Prolong Laptop Battery Life with Your System's Battery Care Settings

Although you can't prevent your laptop's battery from degrading, there are several ways to slow down the process. Some systems have battery maintenance utilities that can make the battery life last 1.5 times longer by preventing the battery from charging fully.
Trouble Fixers notes that some laptops, like those from Sony and Lenovo, have special battery maintenance settings. These tools prevent the battery from being stored at full charge, which, as we've mentioned in ourguide to prolonging battery life, can make a battery deteriorate much faster. If you have a Lenovo laptop, use its Power Management tool and the Battery Maintenance options. For Sony VAIOs, look for the Battery Care utility.
If your laptop doesn't have a maintenance tool like this, though, you can also remove the battery from the laptop when it's plugged in. The makers of the BatteryCare appsuggest you only remove the battery under intensive usage (e.g., gaming) or if your laptop tends to get very hot. Another guideline is the two-week rule of thumb: remove the battery if you're not going to use the laptop for two weeks or will be using it continuously for at least two weeks plugged in.
Be sure to follow other steps to maintain a healthy battery for all your gadgets. Hit the link below to read more on how to use the battery tools that come with your laptop.
Comment from Batterybay.net staff:
It is always suggested by our staffs to remove the battery when your laptop is plugged. It can prevent the degrading of the electrolytic material (Li-ion compound) and is not degraded to provide electric power. Don't waste your battery and remove the battery from the laptop when your laptop is plugged. It can save your money to buy a new battery and also save the environment (battery content is really polluting our world!!)
