Electronics giant Samsung will launch its next generation smartphone the Galaxy S4 on March 14, it has been revealed.
Although rumour mill has it that the Galaxy S4 launch will be held at an event in New York, Samsung continues to be tightlipped. Senior company officials refused to comment on the issue and only said that several new phones will be launched this year starting April.
Specification wise, Samsung is working hard to ensure that the Galaxy S4 is a cut above the iPhone5 and takes on the Blackberry Z10.
Woo Jun, Director of Telecommunications Group at Samsung Gulf, had confirmed to Emirates 24l7 that the next phone will have a better display compared to the S3.
While the S3 came with a 4.8 inch display, the S4 is expected to go bigger with a 4.99 inch full HD 1080 Super AMOLED display and with a display density of 441 dpi.
However, it is now being said that Samsung might go back to Qualcom for its processors following difficulties with its own Exynos 5 Octa processor.
Samsung had earlier announced its own in-house mobile chip with 8 cores dubbed Octa Corer and it was obviously expected to be included in the forthcoming new phones. While the Galaxy S3 was powered by the Exynos 4412, the eight core Exynos 5 is of much more advanced technology in terms of speed and functionality. But it is now being said that the Exynos 5 Octa and other ARM Cortex-A15 Exynos chips are facing issues with regard to power consumption and temperature, forcing Samsung to opt for Qualcom’s Snapdragon 600 chipset, similar to what is being used in the HTC One.
The Galaxy S4 is also expected to come with a 2 GB RAM, a 13 megapixels rear camera and a choice of 16, 32 or 32 GB onboard memory.
Meanwhile sales figures for Samsung S3 has been impressive with 18 million units sold during the third quarter of 2012 and 15.4 million during the fourth quarter of 2012

We also expect Galaxy S4 is having specification that is a cut above the iPhone5 and takes on the Blackberry Z10. But the major concern is their price when considering their marketing strategy. In the competition during the time of Galaxy S4 launch, it will be a market with iOS, Android from other mobile producer like Nokia, Motorola, Google, HTC and also the Window mobile. Will Galaxy S4 still be the king mobile in the next round of competition? We are very excited to see the competition coming in March this year!!
